Patty is the ruthless lawyer at the heart of Damages. She founded Hewes Associates, and has the ability to utterly charming, or devastatingly ruthless.
Arthur Frobisher (Ted Danson)
Billionare business man, facing civil litigation over an alleged “pump and dump” which saw his company employees left penniless. He has already won a criminal case, but now his employees have hired Hewes Associates to go after him.
Ellen Parsons (Rose Byrne)
Recruited by Patty Hewes, Ellen is a promising young legal associate. She lives with her fiance David, and his sister Katie is involved in the case against Frobisher as she was a potential witness to a crucial meeting - her connection is the main reason she was hired by Patty.
Tom Shayes (Tate Donovan)
Patty’s right hand man. She fired him in episode one, but that was a ruse to deceive Ellen and he stays on the pay roll, doing his masters bidding. He gets the chance to strike out on his own but is, as Patty calls him, a great number two and he yearns for her approval.
David Connor (Noah Bean)
Ellen’s fiance is actually killed in the first episode, but due to the non-linear nature of the series, it takes almost the entire season to work out exactly what happened to him and why.
